The Golden Chickens threat actors have recently been linked to two new malware families, TerraStealerV2 and TerraLogger, indicating ongoing efforts to enhance and expand their malicious toolkit. TerraStealerV2 focuses on collecting browser credentials, cryptocurrency wallet data, and browser extension information, while TerraLogger functions as a standalone keylogger, recording keystrokes and saving them to local files. Golden Chickens, also known as Venom Spider, has been active since at least 2018, offering malware services under a malware-as-a-service model.
Attributed to an online persona named badbullzvenom, the Golden Chickens group is believed to operate collectively from Canada and Romania. Some of their other malicious tools include More_eggs lite, VenomLNK, TerraLoader, and TerraCrypt. Recent activity involving a backdoor called RevC2 and a loader named Venom Loader has been detailed by Zscaler ThreatLabz, highlighting the continuous development of Golden Chickens-related malware.
Recorded Future’s latest findings show that Golden Chickens are refining their offerings, with an updated version of their stealer malware capable of extracting data from browsers, cryptocurrency wallets, and browser extensions. TerraStealerV2 is distributed through various formats and retrieves its payload from an external domain. However, the malware does not bypass Application Bound Encryption protections introduced in Chrome updates post-July 2024, indicating that it may still be under development or outdated.
While TerraStealerV2 exfiltrates data to Telegram and a specific domain, TerraLogger records keystrokes without data exfiltration or command-and-control communication. Both tools are still under active development, lacking the stealth associated with mature Golden Chickens tooling. As other stealer malware families like Hannibal Stealer, Gremlin Stealer, and Nullpoint Stealer emerge, it is evident that cyber threats continue to evolve, posing significant risks to individuals and organizations. In today’s fast-paced world, it can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We often find ourselves rushing from one task to the next, barely taking a moment to breathe. However, it is important to remember the importance of slowing down and taking time for ourselves.
One way to do this is by practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present in the moment, without judgment or distraction. By focusing on the present moment, we can reduce stress and anxiety, improve our mental clarity, and enhance our overall well-being.
There are many ways to incorporate mindfulness into our daily lives. One simple technique is to take a few minutes each day to practice deep breathing exercises. This can help to calm the mind and body, allowing us to feel more centered and grounded.
Another way to practice mindfulness is through meditation. Taking just a few minutes each day to sit quietly and focus on our breath can have a profound impact on our mental and emotional well-being. Meditation can help us to cultivate a sense of inner peace and tranquility, even in the midst of a chaotic day.
By incorporating mindfulness practices into our daily routine, we can experience a greater sense of calm, clarity, and overall well-being. Remember, it’s important to take time for ourselves and prioritize our mental and emotional health. By slowing down and practicing mindfulness, we can live more fully and authentically in the present moment.
